Minimum wages increases in April 2020

Almost all workers in the UK are entitled to be paid at least the National Minimum Wage – or the National Living Wage if you’re 25 or over. Currently the NMW is £8.21 but the good news for workers is from April 2020 that goes up to £8.72 for over 25’s.

Almost all workers are entitled to the National Minimum Wage, including:

  • Casual workers
  • Part-time workers
  • Temporary workers

The minimum wage is worked out o an hourly rate, and it applies even if you are not paid by the hour.

this is what you should be paid by law

age 25+ £8.72 per hour
age 21 to 24 £8.20 per hour
age 18 to 20 £6.45 per hour
