Minimum wages increases in April 2020
Almost all workers in the UK are entitled to be paid at least the National Minimum Wage – or the National Living Wage if you’re 25 or over. Currently the NMW is £8.21 but the good news for workers is from April 2020 that goes up to £8.72 for over 25’s.
Almost all workers are entitled to the National Minimum Wage, including:
- Casual workers
- Part-time workers
- Temporary workers
The minimum wage is worked out o an hourly rate, and it applies even if you are not paid by the hour.
this is what you should be paid by law
age 25+ £8.72 per hour
age 21 to 24 £8.20 per hour
age 18 to 20 £6.45 per hour
